    • Liturgy and Worship Ministries are responsible for maintaining the integrity and freshness of our liturgical celebrations and ensuring that the ‘Sunday Eucharistic Experience’ is the source and summit of our Parish Life.

Have you ever attended Mass and wondered, “Who are those people and why do they get to help at Mass each week?”, “I feel a tug at my heart to serve in the Mass, but don’t know how to start?”, or “I wish there was a way for my family to serve at Mass.” Serving in liturgical ministry is a beautiful way to offer your gifts and talents to the glory and worship of our Lord.

If you would like more information about any of the following ministries or how to get involved, please contact the office  by calling (781)862-0335 or click here to contact us.
    • Altar Linens

      • With deep love and reverence for the Holy Eucharist, the Altar Linen Ministry cares for the sacred linens on a rotating schedule. Training is provided on how to care for these special linens that contain the Body and Blood of our Lord Jesus Christ.  This ministry is made up of team members who, behind the scenes in their own homes, reverently launder and care for the purificators and corporals used on the altar at Mass.

        • Time Commitment:  An hour or two, on a rotating schedule, every two weeks.
        • Responsibilities:  Picking up, washing, ironing, and returning the linens to the Church before the weekend masses.
        • Training:  Training is provided upon joining.

Please contact the office if you are interested in joining the  Altar Linen Ministry at (781)862-0335 or contact us.

    • Altar Servers
      • Altar Servers help the priest throughout the celebration, providing reverent example for the rest of the congregation. They carry the processional cross and candles, hold the missal during the opening prayers, assist the priest as he receives the offertory gifts, and wash the priest’s hands as he prepares for communion, as well as maintain the sanctuary by setting up and cleaning up before and after Mass.
If your child is interested, and they have celebrated their First Eucharist and completed 4th grade, we invite them to become a member of our ministry. Adults are also welcome to serve.

        • Time Commitment:  As your schedule allows.
        • Responsibilities:  Prepare the altar prior to Mass; assist the priest during the celebration.
        • Training:  Training is provided upon joining as well as held periodically throughout the year.

Please contact the office if you are interested in becoming an Altar Server at (781)862-0335 or contact us.
    • Children's Liturgy of the Word

      • Children's Liturgy of the Word gives children the opportunity to hear the Sunday scripture readings proclaimed and explained on a level appropriate to their age once a month during the school year at the 9:00 am Mass.
Before the first reading, children ages four through 5th grade will be invited to gather up front to be escorted down to Keilty Hall by the catechist. Children will listen to an age-appropriate scripture reading and reflect on its meaning through dynamic activities. They will return to the congregation during the collection and preparation of the altar.

        Become a catechist
Children's Liturgy of the Word (CLOW) is a great way to share the Gospel readings with children during a Mass you are already attending! Being a CLOW catechist helps you grow in your faith while sharing God’s word with the young children in our parish. CORI checks and Safe Environment training are required. Materials to lead the readings are provided.
        • Time Commitment:  Once a month during the school year, as your schedule allows.
        • Responsibilities:  Escort the children downstairs and share the Gospel readings.
        • Training:  Training is provided upon joining as well as held periodically throughout the year.

    • Lectors

      • Readers share the Word of God at every Mass and prayer service. As the congregation listens, we have the opportunity to prayerfully reflect on God’s word, and what it means in our lives. Readers generally read one or more of the following – the First Reading, the Second Reading, and the Prayers of the Faithful, in addition to the announcements before and after Mass.

This ministry is a visible part of the worship celebration, so we look for volunteers who maintain a reverent but approachable disposition, who are comfortable speaking in front of a large group, and conscious of the role of the spoken word in worship. Confirmed Catholics age 16 and up are invited to train as lectors to proclaim the Scriptures at Mass.

        • Time Commitment:  Weekly or monthly at Mass; as your schedule allows.
        • Responsibilities:  Practicing the readings in advance, reading at Mass clearly and confidently.
        • Training:  Training is provided upon joining as well as held periodically throughout the year.

Please note: CORI will need to be completed prior to your start.
Please contact the office if you are interested in becoming an Lector at (781)862-0335 or contact us
    • Liturgy Committees
      • Our Liturgy Committee contributes to the experience of our sacred liturgies by planning for and implementing the decor of the church and assisting with logistics appropriate to the various liturgical seasons.

Just as we decorate our homes for joyous occasions and celebrations, our church also receives special attention and care to reflect the time and season. Advent, Christmas, Lent, Easter, and more all have a need for volunteers to help enhance the worship experience through the use of symbols, plants/flowers, and other design elements appropriate for each liturgical season.
Do you have an eye for design? Or a passion for enhancing our worship as a community? If you love decorating and can’t wait to celebrate the next holiday, we would love to have you join us and help with preparing, cleaning, and organizing our inventory of decorations.

        • Time Commitment:  Flexible; sign up to help as seasons arrive and your schedule allows.
        • Responsibilities:  Setting up, taking down, and cleaning as needed.
        • Training:  No training required. Use your existing talents or learn from the pros.

Please contact the office if you are interested in becoming part of the Liturgy Committee at (781)862-0335 or contact us.

    • Livestream Mass
      • Weekend Masses are livestreamed and recorded on our website. Using a tablet, volunteers sit in the choir loft and direct the camera to the "action" during Mass.

Adults or students (sixth grade and higher) are eligible to be trained as Live Streamers and make the Mass viewable for those who are unable to attend in person, as well as earn service hours, if needed. Live streamers typically stream 1-2 Masses per month and are notified of other opportunities to stream other events like special Masses, weddings, and funerals. The training is easy and can be completed over the course of a few Masses.

        • Time Commitment:  1 or 2 Masses per month, more as your schedule allows.
        • Responsibilities:  Use a tablet to move the camera as needed during mass.
        • Training:  Training is provided upon joining.

Please contact the office if you are interested in becoming an Live Streamer at (781)862-0335 or contact us.

      •
        LET US REJOICE AND SING!
Each week at Mass, our choir helps enhance the celebration of the Mass through music, singing, and praise. Music is a form of prayer, and our ministry leads, sustains, and enriches the singing of the assembly to help raise its heart to God through song.

Do you enjoy singing? Whether in the car, in the shower, or you just like to whistle a little tune, consider joining our Music ministry. We welcome all – singers and instrumentalists – or those who just enjoy enhancing our worship as a community. We would love to have you with us.

        • The Adult Choir - Rehearsal on Thursday from 3:00pm - 4:00pm in St. Brigid Church and sing at the Sunday 11:00am Mass.  Music ranges from Bach, Mozart, and traditional hymns to contemporary songs in 3-4 part harmony, as well as covering basic music theory and musicianship.

All are welcome!  Please contact Rick Scalise for more information.
    • Ushers
      • Each week at Mass, our Ushers extend a warm welcome to parishioners and visitors alike and offer assistance wherever needed, including helping everyone find seats, collecting the offertory gifts, facilitating the Communion procession and passing out bulletins at the end of Mass. This ministry is filled with energetic and friendly people who enjoy taking care of everyone and ensuring the solemnity of the Mass is maintained.

Are you outgoing and do you like to meet new people, or do you enjoy taking care of others and coordinating events? We’re looking for volunteers who have a welcoming heart and a friendly smile. So if you consider yourself an ambassador for St. Brigid, join us.

        • Time Commitment:  Ushers typically serve at the Mass they attend, as your schedule allows.
        • Responsibilities:  Greeting visitors, answering general questions, helping parishioners find a seat, collecting offertory gifts, and facilitating the Communion procession.
