Meetings for both men and women are held in the St. Brigid Parish Hall. Al Anon meetings take place on Wednesday mornings at 10:00 a.m. AA meetings are held in the same Parish Hall on Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m.

During the Advent season, we invite parishioners to spread Christmas joy through the Giving Tree. Each gift tag represents a specific gift for someone--children at our sister parish in Roxbury, families of St. Mary Parish in Lynn or local families assisted by our Compassion Fund.

Capuchin Mobile Ministries brings the welcome of Christ to people living on the streets in Boston and Cambridge, Mass. They provide spiritual care to everyone experiencing homelessness, poverty, and loneliness.
Three days a week, all the year round, they go out in their outreach van to the places where the homeless gather. They welcome everyone who stops by the van. They share food and drink and other emergency supplies. They listen. They offer spiritual resources. They pray together. They direct people to social services. They remember everyone they meet by name.
They are a ministry of accompaniment. They are a ministry of presence. Together, they discover Christ already present among us.

In 2025, Lauren Foohey, a St. Brigid parishioner, was chosen as the Volunteer of the Year.

In the fall, typically the first weekend of November, we collect new and gently used clothing for partner organizations, notably St. Francis House in Boston. Volunteers intake, sort, and bag clothing for pickup in 2 hour shifts. Details are published in the parish bulletin a few weeks prior to the drive.

The Compassion Fund offers "empathy and some immediate relief to those suffering, but also seeks mid-term and long-term solutions, always searching for justice.” This ministry may assist with food vouchers, overnight lodgings, utility bills, rent and medical prescriptions. All matters are handled confidentially. To contact the Compassion Fund, please call 781-886-2065.

The Haiti Fund is dedicated to a mission begun in the mid 80’s of educating the children in the remote village of Fond des Blancs, Haiti, by providing funds for teacher’s salaries. Money is raised through an annual fund raising letter and provides salaries for over 50 teachers in St. Francois Xavier Center School and 8 chapel schools.

Our Honduras Mission volunteers participate in fundraising, collecting needed supplies and working at the Saint Rosa de Lima Parish in Guaimaca, Honduras during the February school vacation. Volunteers give presentations to our parish community to help connect parishioners with our brothers and sisters in this struggling country. The pantry provides food and other essential items each Saturday morning from 9:30 to 11:00 to individuals and families in need. Donations to the pantry of non-perishable items may be dropped off in the bins at Stop & Shop on Bedford St. Gift cards purchased at Stop & Shop are also welcome. They may be sent directly to the pantry or placed in an envelope marked "Lexington Food Pantry" and dropped into the collection basket at mass.

On the first weekend of the month, donations of nonperishable food and Stop & Shop gift cards are collected at the church.

Parishioners are invited to enjoy refreshments after the 9:00 a.m. Mass on Sundays when the children's Religious Education program has classes. The children have a few minutes to eat a snack before class and after class begins, the adults can get to know each other over coffee or tea. New volunteers are always welcome to help with set-up and clean-up!

Women’s Lunch Place (WLP) is a daytime refuge for about 80 women. Located in the basement of the Church of the Covenant in Boston, it offers many daily necessities (shower facilities, place to nap, etc.), as well as breakfast and lunch. In November, a group of volunteers provide Thanksgiving pies. In addition, parishioners have generously donated new socks for the WLP women at Christmas time.
