St. Brigid Church was blessed on November 26, 1875. To celebrate this occasion, we are putting together a collection of photos, historical background on the parish and a timeline of events. Below are a few items of interest.
The photo above is courtesy of the Cary Library Edwin B. Worthen Collection. It is dated 1957 and shows the original St. Brigid Church on the right. The former rectory is in the center of the photo. The current St. Brigid Church construction is nearly completed on the left in the photo.
St. Brigid Sesquicentennial Booklet
In recognition of the 150th year of the parish, a commemorative booklet, 'A Retrospective -- St. Brigid Parish Sesquicentennial 1875-2025', has been compiled for the interest and enjoyment of those involved with the parish. It contains text, a timeline and photographs to celebrate the past fifty years. Since we want to reach as many parishioners and friends as possible, we are offering several options to access this booklet. It will be available through Labor Day (September 7th) in print and here on the parish website by clicking the image of the booklet below.
Copies of the booklet may be ordered online by clicking here or purchased at the parish office during office hours. The suggested donation is $10, with the proceeds going to benefit the St. Brigid Religious Education Program.
