Msgr. Keilty Scholarship

Every year, St. Brigid Parish awards the Monsignor Keilty scholarship to high school seniors who have demonstrated their willingness to serve our faith community through participation in the life of the parish. This scholarship is named in honor of Msgr. Keilty who was a long-time and much beloved pastor of St. Brigid's and who positively impacted the youth of the parish and the town of Lexington. 

IMPORTANT DATES

• Friday, May 29, 2025: Applications due 
*Applications received after the due date and applicants who do not meet all eligibility requirements will not be considered.
• Thursday, June 4, 2025: Date by which applicants will be notified
• Sunday, June 7, 2025: 9:00 am Mass at St. Brigid Church - Scholarships will be awarded during Mass. **All recipients are expected to attend.**

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

• Applicant must be a graduating high school senior.
• Applicant must be an active member of St. Brigid Parish and a participating and contributing member of at least one Parish Ministry since their Confirmation.
• Applicant must attend Mass regularly.
• The award is contingent on acceptance and enrollment at an accredited institution of higher learning.

LETTERS OF RECOMMENDATION

Please submit two letters of recommendation that highlight your faith-based service in the parish and beyond:
- one from school (teacher, coach, guidance counselor, etc.)
- one from a person/supervisor acquainted with you through Parish activities.
The names of both your recommenders should be entered below. Please do not include more than two letters.

ESSAY

Please write an essay of up to 500 words sharing how your involvement in St. Brigid Parish has impacted you during your high school years and how you hope to continue living the faith during your college years. Please also identify the area(s) of parish life that you have been active in during high school and how that has helped you to grow in your faith.

Please submit the application form found below (including your essay) and send the two letters of recommendation to Fr. Hubbard with the subject line "Msgr. Keilty Scholarship" by Friday, May 29.
